16 Weeks

16 Weeks, 1 Day

Baby, thank you for not making me yak every morning, I am so grateful! We can't wait to find out if you are a little girl or boy...we even contemplated doing the Drano test but couldn't find the right kind of Drano at Kroger. I know it's not accurate and we only have 3 more weeks to find out, but would be fun. Of course I think you are a Girl and Daddy thinks you are a Boy.

I can't beleive I am 16 weeks pregnant already! I have been feeling really good but having some tightness or round ligament pain which is normal right now. Growing pains I guess! I can also feel the baby move more and more each day which is very weird but I like it.

I am not sure when we are supposed to start registering for baby stuff but I have already started researching different toys, summer swaddles, bottles, pumps, baby baby baby everything pretty much. It's a little overwhelming but after a trip to Target and pointing out EVERY LITTLE THING that a baby needs and seeing that Danny of all people was not overwhelmed, I think I'll make it. I just keep thinking "what if no one gets us anything for the shower??" Which I know isn't possible but if that's the worse thing running through my head at this point then I am in good shape. Amazon.com, where I work, did give us a free BRITAX CARSEAT:

It even came is this super eco-friendly, space saving box.

Oh and the baby is about 4 1/2 inches long (about the size of an avocado).

I am starting to get antsy about going somewhere so we might planning a small trip somewhere during Dave's Spring Break from Cascade. We leave on Wednesday the 9th for TN for Al and Joan's 60th Wedding Anniversary trip! We can't wait to stay in a King size bed and have a fireplace and jacuzzi in our room at the Mansion in the Sky:)

Check out this crazy Ice Storm that came on Tuesday and Wednesday:

We planned to take Rock-it on the trail to slip and slide around but Danny didn't make it...he was almost to the top, started sliding down, used his hands as brakes and started screaming that they were burning. Then ran inside and put them under warm water, which didn't help. Needless to say he never made it but I scooted Rock-its butt and we crawled our way up the ice.
Me and Rock-it made it to the trail but it was way too slippery to even walk.

Our thermometer outside was broken!

15 Weeks, 3 Days

15W, 3D

That's right! There's a baby bump! Here is a shot at 8 Weeks to compare:

I have been feeling some movements more this week! It's very hard to feel them and when I try to pay attention it's gone. It's official...my butt/hips are getting bigger. I heard this could happen but thought it might be one of the pregnancy side effects that I would miss. What a bummer.

14 Weeks, 2 days

We went to my 14 week doctor visit today at listened to the baby's heart beat. Danny said it sounded like a washing machine but the doc said it sounded good and was in the 150's. It was pretty amazing how fast he found the heart beat and the baby. I knew it was in there somewhere and can tell that everything is growing but it was nice to have the doctor confirm that everything is where it's supposed to be. It's still kind of unreal at this point but my growing belly and peeing about every 45 minutes confirms the baby in my belly.

I weighed 165.5 which totals a 4.5 lb gain since our last visit 5 weeks ago and is right on track! I told the doctor how much I have been eating and he wasn't concerned since my weight gain was good and since my Gluten Free diet doesn't allow me to eat bread, pastries, etc. There are some days when I can't get full and will honestly eat something every hour! What I ate yesterday: yogurt, banana, pear, g-free apple muffin, Smart-one's Rice and Beans, Orange, GIANT pickle, JJ veggie wrap, tamale and salsa, and Chex cereal. I felt like that was a LOT but when I told Danny and our friend Dave last night they didn't think I was eating enough....

After I talked to the doctor I feel more comfortable with my baby bump and eating habits:)

Oh baby...

(13 weeks, 2 days)

Baby I can't beleive how big you are already! I am almost in my Second Trimester and am so happy I wasn't a puker and so glad to have energy to be back at the gym full time. You are about the size of a peach from crown to rump! It's so hard to beleive that you can already suck your thumb, punch, kick, swim, and dance around.

One of the books I am reading said, "it's okay it you have gained about 5 lbs at this point," which I totally feel like I have so thank gawd. I have my second doctor's appointment next Friday so we will find out. My sister in law Jamie has her appointment that day too so we will be on the same schedule now and both see Dr. Allen. Hopefully we can hear your heartbeat!

Now that you have developed most of your vital organs, it's time to grow! You will quadruple over the next month, which means me getting bigger too. Bring it on! I guess?

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
(11 weeks, 2 Days)
Dave, Danny and I went to see a couple of bands play, picked up some Champagne for the guys and sparkling wine for me and are already back home at 10:30pm.

Honestly, I am more excited about the Sparkling wine and $5 maternity jeans I got at Old Navy than New Years Eve. I had to go shopping for some maternity clothes today and found some really good end of the year sales. My belly isn't showing yet but I feel a little bigger and can't throw on a t-shirt and feel comfortable anymore.

See you in 2011!

Expecting.....

That's right! We are pregnant!
My first doctor's appointment was Dec. 16 and I am 9 weeks pregnant. So far I have NOT had any of that yucky morning sickness that everyone is talking about but I do feel a little 'icky' now and then. But by time I put something in my mouth it is usually over and I feel great:) I haven't been hitting the gym 6 days a week like my normal self and wanted to get the OKAY from the doc before I worked out too much. Plus, growing a baby makes you extra tired! Besides feeling tired all of the time I have also had some pretty vivid dreams lately.

So now we are just waiting on the perfect job to come along for Danny:)
We also had a graduation party for Dr. Dan. We were really glad that so many of our friends and family were able to make it and then we headed to Dave and Trina's for Christmas with Grandpa Al and Grandma Joan. That's 1 XMAS down and 4 more to go. Danny also got to go to my side of the Family's XMAS at Aunt Betty's but I had to work.
