Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
(11 weeks, 2 Days)
Dave, Danny and I went to see a couple of bands play, picked up some Champagne for the guys and sparkling wine for me and are already back home at 10:30pm.

Honestly, I am more excited about the Sparkling wine and $5 maternity jeans I got at Old Navy than New Years Eve. I had to go shopping for some maternity clothes today and found some really good end of the year sales. My belly isn't showing yet but I feel a little bigger and can't throw on a t-shirt and feel comfortable anymore.

See you in 2011!

Expecting.....

That's right! We are pregnant!
My first doctor's appointment was Dec. 16 and I am 9 weeks pregnant. So far I have NOT had any of that yucky morning sickness that everyone is talking about but I do feel a little 'icky' now and then. But by time I put something in my mouth it is usually over and I feel great:) I haven't been hitting the gym 6 days a week like my normal self and wanted to get the OKAY from the doc before I worked out too much. Plus, growing a baby makes you extra tired! Besides feeling tired all of the time I have also had some pretty vivid dreams lately.

So now we are just waiting on the perfect job to come along for Danny:)
We also had a graduation party for Dr. Dan. We were really glad that so many of our friends and family were able to make it and then we headed to Dave and Trina's for Christmas with Grandpa Al and Grandma Joan. That's 1 XMAS down and 4 more to go. Danny also got to go to my side of the Family's XMAS at Aunt Betty's but I had to work.

Job Searching....

Danny finished his thesis today and now has about 15 days to prepare to defend it. We have been heavily job searching buy no luck! He has had a couple of post-doc offers here and there but nothing that he is interested in. So if you are looking for a PhD Bio-chemist that can do: quantum dot synthesis, fluorescence confocal microscopy or Bio-medical imaging please let us know! He often says it's just a job but I really hope that he can find a job that he enjoys and can excel at. Wish us luck!

New things comings soon:)

I will start updating this blog. I will start updating this blog. I will start updating this blog.

Well, I will try my hardest! Sorry guys for leaving you for so long.

Quickest update I can type:
I am still working at Amazon in Plainfield and only work Sunday-Wednesday. I love it and we are getting ready to go into our "peak" season.

Dan will be finished with his thesis on November 30! Way to go Dan! Graduation is near and we can feel it. Coincidentally, November 30 is also his last pay day....we are looking for jobs in Indiana but it's not looking so good:(

More to come....:)

Memorial Day Weekend

I only have one day off work for Memorial Day weekend but we were able to spend some time together on our 1st canoe trip! After doing about 3 circles, 3 arguments about who was rowing the wrong way, and learning on our own that the rear rower steers....we ended up having a good time:)

Major 10 month update...and pics:)

So I know I haven't blogged in a while but I have missed it....a lot has happened in the last 10 months you should probably know about:
- Nephews .... Anthony is 5 years old and getting ready to start Kindergarten! OMG Jackson is walking, talking and learning so much it's too cute:) and we have a 10 month old Nephew now...Weston Anthony Wayne Hernandez...wow

Anthony

Jackson

Weston

- July 2009 we took a Minner Family Vacation to Panama City Beach and it was so much fun:)- I am still technically 'un-employed' although I have 5 jobs....

1. Amazon.com (temp for 6 months but hopefully I get hired on soon! I love it there!)
2. Plumps last shot (Bartending 2 times a week)

3. Centerplate at the Murat (Bartending whenever they need me)
4. American Eagle (folding clothes since 2000)
5. Random Catering gigs for cash money

6ish. Red Robin (I also worked at Red Robin briefly but it sucked)

- Dan and I have been busy hanging with our friends and family when we have a chance and Dan has been playing music with Gorman, Dave and Rumley.

- I have been hitting the gym pretty hard. I love lifting weights, cardio classes, zumba dance and spinning. Dan...not so much, although he is going to start again next week.

- I played volleyball during the winter months and am on 2 softball teams this summer. I love it:) and again Dan will not be playing on account of the fear of breaking his nose. Again.

- I found out almost a year ago that I have Celiac disease. (Basically I can't have gluten which is in bread, beer, pasta and pretty much anything processed...more to come on this)

- I had an awesome 80's Birthday party...all the cool kids were there.

- Dan went to San Fransisco for school in February and March. I was lucky enough to go with him the first time. We had a blast!
- We went to visit my Grandmother Irene Hernandez is Las Vegas....again a blast! Dave went with.

- My Great Grandmother Carmen Contreras turned 100 years old. I hope I have her genes!

- We adopted a new kitten named Sonny...She is a fur ball (pic to come).

- Summer 2010 will include the following: mass hangage with our peeps, pools, getting our tans on, mucho concertos (including the much loved MAB), and our first CRUISE together:) That's right party people...the Minner's want us to enjoy the beautiful Caribbean with them and we can't wait!

We are obviously extremely busy people but we love you and I promise to update more often! (Hold me to that...)

I will never blog as well and as often as my FAV sis-in-law Jamie:

Can I just say that DVR has changed our lives in the last year. that is all.
