Piggyback Rides...

Since being laid off from my job I have picked up a part time waitress job at Plumps last shot in Broad ripple and helping out Cibus food service with some administrative jobs. Cibus is a catering company that was started by some of the old Crystal Catering people that I used to work with. Luckily they are helping me out and giving me a part-time position. Plumps is a really neat bar about 40 minutes away that serves adults and doggies! Pretty neat place where I get to serve people and pups!

Rock-it has a new friend down the street. His name is Blue Magoo and is a little heavier than Rock!

We have also found out that the kitten Kitchen likes piggy back rides, hence the title:

We have also done some landscaping outside and created a small relaxation area out back:

No more Softball for Danny :(

All Danny wanted to do today was wash his car but I really wanted him to practice throwing with me for our upcoming softball league. I have been playing since I was like 4 but this would be Danny's 1st year. I doubt he will play this year because during practice there was a little accident...We were throwing the ball back and forth and Rock-it was with us too. We were all having a great time until I told him to 'go for a long one.' The first pop-fly came down on his nose! It was a little crazy with all the blood and freaking out but we made it to the Immediate Care in 5 minutes. They got it to stop bleeding pretty fast and turned out it is just fractured and not broken. Looks like we will be at the ENT Doc on Monday to get it adjusted.

Peoria, IL

We went to visit Danny's Grandma and Grandpa Al and Joan in Peoria, IL this weekend and picked up some new furiture on the way! Well it was old furniture but new for us. There was a picture of Danny as a new born baby laying on the couch and he is 26 so I am guessing it is almost 30 years old. It is in such great condition and looks really great in our front living room.

Here is a picure of Danny's gpa Al on the phone with Aunt Judy

Here is picture of Danny in the painting room

Rock-it stayed with Mimi and Papaw while we were gone. We were kind of worried about our baby pup but he was so great for them!

Let's just say that Kitchen and Rock-it love the new couch:)

Here are the chairs and a beautiful painting that Danny's gma Joan painted to go with the couch!

Some things we did this weekend in Peoria: played Mexican Train Dominos, ate cherry pie, shot a bb gun, ate at a new German Restaurant, and brought home Avantis for dinner for everyone. So all-in-all it was a good trip!

Karaoke

We decided to have some people over for a little Karaoke get-together. It turned out to everyone playing Rock Band and a little Karaoke. Rock Band is always a good time until you have sang and played every song and then you just put it away until next time everyone comes over. Dan is always the number one singer of the night when he decides to sing!

Here is my friend Abbey playing drums and brother Tony playing guitar. Teddi, Ted and Rob are in the background.

This is me and Abbey picking out our next songs to sing. We have been friends for 20 years! Dave and Bridgett are in the background.

This is me and Teddi and Danny in the background.

Here is one of Danny singing but he looks BLUE because of the TV screen.

Boston

So Danny just got back from Boston, MA for a Poster session at the Boston Convention Center. Title of his Poster: Tuning Cellular Mechano-Response using Biomembrane-Mimicking Subtrates of Adjustable Fluidity. I don't get it either. He did really well on his presentation and hopefully will get first place. The airport lost his bag and there was 15 inches of snow so his only pair of socks and shoes were wet. The airline delivered his bag the next morning and his presentation wasn't until 2pm so everything turned out okay. He didn't have much time to sight-see but did get a chance to have dinner at Cheers and go to the Sam Adam's Brewery Tour. He said the tour was great and got his brother Michael a beer glass designed by the Universities that is specially made for Sam Adam's Boston Lager. We all had to sample the beer when he got back and Michael loved his glass!
Unfortunately he didn't get any pictures but here are some pics of his purchases.

Boston Shirt that Dan got me:

Cheers Shirt that Dan got himself:

Kitchen and Rock-it are glad he is home too:

We were dog-sitting my brother Tony's pup for almost a month while he moved into his new place. Here is a picture of me and all the animals resting:
