19 Weeks and Ultrasound

19 Weeks

We had our 19 week Ultrasound and found out we are having a baby GIRL! Everyone was so excited for us and we immediately called and text everyone to share the news:) We were able to see all kinds of things on the ultrasound, the brain, heart, umbilical cord, spine, and even the girlie parts. We were pretty surprised when she told us we broke the streak of all boys.

Baby ultrasound pics!

She was stretched out for the entire ultrasound and then towards the end she decided to curl up for a little nap!

She has a big belly, long legs, long skinny feet and her daddy's long toes!

18 Weeks

18 Weeks

Sorry it's so late but here is my 18 week picture. Not a very good one...but yes my belly is really growing!

I did a lot of research on different classes: lamaze, hypnobabies, newborn, breastfeeding, and the Bradley Method. While all of the classes seemed like them would benefit me during labor, I am most interested in the Bradley Method. We start an 8 week series with Dana Goot on March 3, 20 weeks pregnant. It is supplemented with online information and at home excercises so just in case we do have to move because of Danny's job then we can continue online! Our friends from the gym, Erin and Herman recently went through the same class and only had good things to say about it. Hopefully Danny will be up for coaching me through labor but if not Trina is going to be our back up because she is going to be there for the delivery along with my mom and Carmen.

A little about the Bradley Method of natural childbirth: teaches relaxation, prenatal nutrition and exercise, what to do is complications arise and many other helpful information. I am really excited and will post information from our weekly classes!

17 Weeks and the Smoky Mountains

17 Weeks, 1 Day

I don't know if it was the trip to TN or pregnancy but my lower back is hurting more than it ever has! That nasty congestion is back too with a cough this time! It is horrible! I can't breathe at all. Hopefully it clears up a little before we leave. We have a huge jacuzzi tub in our room that is pretty nice and helped a lot last night.

I really miss not being able to just grap something out of my closet to wear. Sometime I have to try on multiple outfits, even for the gym! I am set on pants thanks to my friends Samantha and Melissa for giving me their maternity clothes:) Trina is taking me shopping for my birthday at some of the outlet stores here and I am in search of t-shirts, bras, a bathing suit and I am also looking for one of those belly headphones so I can play the baby music at night.

We decided to leave on Tuesday night after dropping Rock-it off with his buddies Fudge and Boston at aunt Teddi's. Mike, Jamie, Jackson, Dan and I drove about 3 hours to Lexington, KY and stayed at a hotel for about 5 hours of sleep and then finished the drive the following day. The drive wasn't that bad and we all made it here! (pictures below and more to come)

16 Weeks

16 Weeks, 1 Day

Baby, thank you for not making me yak every morning, I am so grateful! We can't wait to find out if you are a little girl or boy...we even contemplated doing the Drano test but couldn't find the right kind of Drano at Kroger. I know it's not accurate and we only have 3 more weeks to find out, but would be fun. Of course I think you are a Girl and Daddy thinks you are a Boy.

I can't beleive I am 16 weeks pregnant already! I have been feeling really good but having some tightness or round ligament pain which is normal right now. Growing pains I guess! I can also feel the baby move more and more each day which is very weird but I like it.

I am not sure when we are supposed to start registering for baby stuff but I have already started researching different toys, summer swaddles, bottles, pumps, baby baby baby everything pretty much. It's a little overwhelming but after a trip to Target and pointing out EVERY LITTLE THING that a baby needs and seeing that Danny of all people was not overwhelmed, I think I'll make it. I just keep thinking "what if no one gets us anything for the shower??" Which I know isn't possible but if that's the worse thing running through my head at this point then I am in good shape. Amazon.com, where I work, did give us a free BRITAX CARSEAT:

It even came is this super eco-friendly, space saving box.

Oh and the baby is about 4 1/2 inches long (about the size of an avocado).

I am starting to get antsy about going somewhere so we might planning a small trip somewhere during Dave's Spring Break from Cascade. We leave on Wednesday the 9th for TN for Al and Joan's 60th Wedding Anniversary trip! We can't wait to stay in a King size bed and have a fireplace and jacuzzi in our room at the Mansion in the Sky:)

Check out this crazy Ice Storm that came on Tuesday and Wednesday:

We planned to take Rock-it on the trail to slip and slide around but Danny didn't make it...he was almost to the top, started sliding down, used his hands as brakes and started screaming that they were burning. Then ran inside and put them under warm water, which didn't help. Needless to say he never made it but I scooted Rock-its butt and we crawled our way up the ice.
Me and Rock-it made it to the trail but it was way too slippery to even walk.

Our thermometer outside was broken!

Danny's ice cube!
